Family

Zack and his wife suffered a lost when their daughter Autumn Snyder died in March 2017. She was aged 20 and the filming of justice league was coming to an end. However, Zack wanted to film some additional footage but due to this pain Snyder and his wife, Deborah Snyder who was also a producer on the film stepped down to deal with their family needs and emotional time they had in their hands. The direction was then given to Joss Whedon to film the additional footage and the film Justice league was out in 2017.

Films that inspire me to want to direct.

The first encounter I had with Zack Snyder's films was Batman V Superman. It straight away inspired me to want to create interesting and throughout story telling for the audience which in a way prompted me to think more about the audience then just filmmaking. I have always been a fan of Batman but with this different kind of concept it changed my ideas and created my own style in which I believe is a true gritty dark film. I then found the classical 300 film starring Gerard Butler which in my mind is the best film Zack has directed and created. The story is simple but intriguing and has an emotional pull throughout the film that leaves an impression with the audience. However, the phrases “This is Sparta '' became one of the greatest quotes in history. Man of Steel is also that one film that brought me and many others into the DC universe as not only was the directed gripping, but it was captivating. In my opinion Zack is one of a kind director and has many more films to tell in the future.

Christopher Nolan Case study

Director

Christorpher Nolan is one of the most stylish directors of the 21st century today. He has taken storytelling to the next level with presenting films like, Following, memento, The Batman Trilogy, and Interstellar. Christopher has an interesting way of proceeding his films and showcases them to the audience in a way that can only be explained like the audience is following his characters. However, he usually films in a wide shot with close ups because he believes that it illustrates more emotion from the audience than just a normal shot. In the film Insomnia the actor Al Pacino was shocked to see that the director, Christopher had chosen to place the camera straight up to the actor's face showing his real emotion and real feeling in the complexity scene. This allowed the audience to see and perceive the character's mind frame. Nolan has won many awards that can only be said for the very few directors in the world right now. If you look at Nolan's films closely you will see a pattern that is clearly and simple, time. I believe that he has always been interested in time and shows his fictional characters to have relationships with time which Christopher Nolan has confirmed many times in an interview over the many years. If you look at memento the characters' understanding is circled around time and human morals, interstellar again is formed around time, and yet again see Tenet which now shows time moving backwards in his film. Nolan has always had the theme of time reoccur and what else do you expect from a director of his class.

Films that inspire me.

The first film that Introduced me to Christopher Nolan was Batman Begins, this film being a comic book that took a high and dark tone from the previous Batman films. The film was great in my opinion, but it was nothing compared to what Nolan is capable of. He soon showed his marvelousness in the movie, The Prestige. He shows the audience his character's obsession with being the best and wanting to beat his enemies. However, the films that made me the person I am today, wanting to create films and become a director, is Interstellar and Inception. These two films are the blueprints of why I have chosen to study the art of cinema and my passion for directing. Inception was the film that showed me the understanding behind storytelling and gave an emotional love story behind the action-packed timeline. Then you have Interstellar, Nolan gave a lasting relationship between father and daughter that lasted more than a lifetime.
